THE DETAILS

The MUSIC:

Blending together the tunes of hot local and up-coming artists, the Eraserhood Festival First ever Line-up includes: DJ On Mars, DJ Naya, and The Cherry Pie Collective.

DJ On Mars is an Eraserhood staple whose analog finesse calls to you with an extensive nostalgic vinyl catalog that spans streets and eras. You can’t help but daydream and dance to the hypnotic sounds of old and new. DJ Naya is an energy that blooms and BOOMS; a musical surgeon - she digs for dynamite and drops nothing but bombs on the turntables that make your heart rate do a jig. The Cherry Pie Collective truly exemplifies what it means to create art across genres. Where metal meets wood and sound meets vision, this powerhouse of artists have come together to share their testimony to the spirit of David Lynch which has been imbued in the Eraserhood Community.

The MOVES:

While the DJs are serving hits, the acrobatic community will be soaring along with them. Led by Flaunt Fitness & Friends, the street will turn into a Circus Jam complete with various aerial apparatuses and plenty of time to clown around. When the sun gives way to the late hour - Sabrina - a surreal solo aerialist will give tribute to movement in film as a member of The Cherry Pie Collective dancing and flying to match their ethereal tones.

The FOOD:

Eraserhood Festival is thrilled to announce its festival partnership with Triple Bottom Brewing and Love City Brewing. Triple Bottom Brewing will be featured in the beverage garden, serving a variety of drinks, including Love City Brewing’s “Eraserhood Drink,” a special tribute to the Eraserhood Community. The Beverage Garden will also feature a live activation sponsored by Tito’s.

For delicious food to pair with the drinks, festival-goers can visit the Grayon Kash Cafe food truck, a local Philadelphia vendor. Their menu includes Philly favorites like a classic Philly Cheesesteak, a variety of burgers including the salmon-based Kash Burger, and the popular Crispy Rice Bowls. For even more food options, attendees can walk down the block to Wood Street Pizza, an official sponsor of the Eraserhood and purchase a delicious slice of Pizza.

CAPTURING THE COMMUNITY

The festival organizers were driven by a mission that extended far beyond simply showcasing the vibrant tapestry of the Eraserhood community. Their vision encompassed a profound revitalization, a resurgence sparked by the very essence of the arts, businesses, and cultural heritage that already existed within the neighborhood.

Callowhill-Chinatown North, unfortunately, has been a neglected and underserved market. This festival was conceived as a catalyst for change, designed to bolster economic prosperity within the community and foster a sense of unity and shared purpose among its residents as they came together to celebrate their collective legacy. It was a resounding tribute to the enduring power of culture, a celebration of David Lynch, and a testament to the indelible spirit of a community that refused to be erased.

FESTIVAL ORGANIZATION

The Eraserhood is independently produced by various contributors. The Velvet Whip, a social and event speakeasy local and famous to the Eraserhood community is the primary producer and founder of the Eraserhood Festival in collaboration with SERF, a newly formed events, marketing, and creative agency, who co-produced and managed the entire festival, along with key supporting partners: such as Melody Market, responsible for managing and sourcing vendors, W?ldcard Productions, who directed the colorful programming and developed the visual story and creative assets, and a Philly Jazz Experience, helping to manage relationships with sponsors.  Lastly, the festival would be nothing without its key volunteers and project managers who worked tirelessly to make this event a success.
