Program Goal

The Community Business Passport Program connects festival attendees with the artists, businesses, and cultural institutions that make up the Eraserhood community.

Through an interactive neighborhood scavenger hunt, participants are encouraged to explore local spaces, support small businesses, and engage with the creative ecosystem of the neighborhood.

How the Program Works

From May 1 – July 1, attendees will use a physical Passport Zine to navigate the neighborhood through the Eraserhood Scavenger Hunt.

Participants will:

  • Visit participating businesses, galleries, studios, and organizations

  • Collect custom stamps in their Passport Zine

  • Explore the creative landscape of Eraserhood

  • Support local businesses, organizations and artists

The first festival attendee to complete their passport will receive a Grand Prize.

The Passport Zine itself will feature a mix of:

  • Silly real advertisements from participating businesses and artists

  • Completely fictional “fake ads”

  • Unfinished artwork for festival attendees to draw on like a coloring book and collaborate with the artist(s)

  • Experimental finished artwork/poetry/etc.

Participants are encouraged to lean into the weird, surreal, and playful spirit of Eraserhood.

Additional marketing benefits (such as social media promotion or digital placements) may be available through paid sponsorship tiers.

Passport Destinations (Artists & Arts Organizations with Public Spaces)

Artists or arts organizations that have a public physical location (studio, gallery, storefront, etc.) may also participate as Passport Destinations.

These locations may:

  • Inclusion in Festival Email Campaigns

  • Expanded advertising opportunities

We believe in supporting local creators and encourage participants to choose the level of visibility that best fits their needs.

Read the below For More context on each creative prompt!

looking to promote your shenanigans?

If you are a local artist/organization/business, send us the most absurd ad for your platform you can think of; if it inspires a chuckle, we’ll print it in the passport. If your business/organization has a physical space we will include a spot for a rubber stamp next to your ad for the public to stamp when they visit you. Please refer to the template pictured for a size guide. Each passport page is 4”x6” so create an ad that takes up about 1/4 of the page. Whoever gives the most absurd ad will receive a prize announced at the festival on May 1st!

MOODBOARD FOR INSPO HERE

Have an idea for a fake ad for a fake product/service and too much time on your hands?

We’d like to bamboozle the public by mixing in fake ads with the real ones. Send us your most ridiculous fake ad and we’ll pop that in the passport as well. Please refer to the template pictured for a size guide. Each passport page is 4”x6” so create an ad that takes up about 1/4 of the page. Whoever gives the most insane fake ad will receive a prize announced at the festival on May 1st!

Do you have unfinished artwork you’d like to give a second life?

Don’t abandon a good idea on the chopping block! We believe an unfinished project is just a collaboration in waiting! Create a masterpiece with the help of your community! Submit your unfinished drawings/paintings/etc. to be featured in the passport so fellow Eraserhood passerbys can color on them like a coloring book, take a picture of their additions, and tag you and the festival online to showcase your collaborative finished works!

Local art

Are you an Eraserhood artist looking to showcase your art/poetry/unhinged Philly opinions/etc.? Submit it to us for a chance to be featured in the passport! We want to promote your creativity amidst the menagerie! ;P
